Hi Annie,
I wanted to fill you in on World Hoop Day in Oceanside, California. I was able to set up a hoop tent at the beach and share hoop happiness with the young and old. I also donated 16 hoops to a camp for brothers and sisters that are being reunited from different foster homes at Camp Connect. They said the kids had a great time with the hoops and they will send me a photo of the kids hooping. I have a few other photos from WHD888. I can attach. (See Photos here.)
Thanks for your help and for organizing WHD. Have great new ideas for next year!

Hi Annie,
good to hear from you:)
Did you have a succesful time? I bet!
it was an interview for the radio and he asked what is good about hooping. i told him about positivity, uplifting elements and benefits of getting in good shape. In good shape after he said he thought it was only for slim people...
He asked an 60 years old woman who has been in my classes and she told him how much she likes it.
He asked about why/how/what about World Hoop day.
The photo thay took somewhere from internet I guess! :/ they should have brought a photographer instead!!
it was a great thing to organise and celebrate. We felt connected with the others in the world. i just got back from 2e level training with Christabel(hoopgirl) and so did Ingrid who is now second HoopGirl teacher in the Netherlands!
thanx for mailing.
Love, karin

Annie,
Hello. It's great to hear from you. How was your world hoop day? Mine was great. I was in Colorado
for it and spent it with my crew Kaivalya and the kind ladies from Hoop It Forward who did an amazing job of getting this event going. There was probably about 400 people there through out the day! Don't
quote me on that but I was there from 11:30 to 9 at night and every time I looked up there were at least 100 hoopers all around and I'm sure they were not the same 100 hoopers all day!
Good times! Some day i'd like to get KCMO up to those numbers. Sarah Noel, the girl that hosted it in KCMO is my new roomy! I was excited to here that she got something together. Maybe next year i'll
be in kansas city to help her out. Well I hope all is going well for you.
Much love and Light,
Breeze Sai Ram Hoopdance Enthusiasts, Our focus at Hoopadelic was to generate as much money as possible for the WHD organization so they would have the resources needed to do their wonderful work. We organized, outsourced and worked 24/7 to spread the word in a timely manner to provide participants with a party that would help us meet that goal, but what we envisioned seemed to pale in comparison to the true festivities and rewards We - all 40 hoopers and attendees - generated AS ONE. The donations flowed effortlessly as musical talent, equipment, time, energy, presence, cash, checks and many hoops made their way to this event; the hoops and money moved onto new homes and exchanged hearts and hands to fulfill a new mission. The energy skyrocketed as the event manifested into a spirited celebration of luminary hoopbeings dancing for a great cause. Our intention to share the joys of hooping far surpassed any dollar amount we wished to raise, for what I felt on this day, and everyone I had the honor to meet and speak with felt, was, and still is, INCREDIBLE. The giving of time, energy, resources, Love, compassion to this great global cause turned out to be more than just a fundraiser for the children we held in our hearts, for the gifts we gave were given back to all of the participants ten-fold and that energy shot right through our hearts filled our core. Truly We were One when effortless giving can also become an intangible and unexpected receiving of the heart in ways that fill us tremendously like a glass of water overflowing with Love and hydrating all that it caresses. Every dollar, ecstatic moment, act of kindness we shared simply by Being and dancing flowed to and from us in a pulsating high-vibrational whirling mass of LOVE LOVE LOVE. In essence all that we donated with the intention of serving children from the U.S. and around the world truly nourished the child in Us and elevated Us to be the amazing hooper that we are in service to Be. For those who attended and plan to go to Burning Man this year, wasn’t this just a great pre-burn playground? Community was strong and giving as everyone contributed in more ways than one prior to, during and after the event. World Hoop Day 8.8.08 was truly a time of CONNECTING AND MANIFESTING INFINITE ONESS, LOVE AND LIGHT. Just as we flow in our sacred hoopdance, this WHD event flowed and unfolded as perfectly as anyone could ask for. A sea of smiles, laughter, men, women, children, friends, family, lovers, whirling, twirling, tossing and DANCING -- with and without hoops! -- so magnificent it drew observers closer and closer to the Light until they eventually participated or later inquired, one latent hooper after the other, “what is it that all of you are doing today? It looks like so much fun!” YOU all made this impact in our community, our hearts and beyond. In short YOU ROCK!!!!!!! Yes, you rock hard. This was indeed a very special day. Thank you for the permanent smile...this 8.8.08 was unforgettable. Thank You for blessing the Eagle Rock Park and Recreation Center, the City of Los Angeles, the State of California, the US, the Continent, the Globe with your Vibrance! Deepest Gratitude to... Annie O'Keeffe, founder of World Hoop Day, for leading the way for happier children around the world! Sunbyte for donating your time, energy and equipment to bring us great music and for your Awesome closing set that we All loved hoopdancing to. Thank you for All that You did to help make this event possible. Disko Voltair for enthusiastically providing us with your incredible opening set of diverse music that was especially prepared just for the HOOPERS! Thank you for that special attention and Love. You rocked Us! And we appreciate you being there to help us set-up and break-down. Bird Pick Tea & Herbs for mindfully hydrating us with freshly brewed specialty iced teas and hot herbs which were generously prepared to keep our spirits high and our bodies hydrated. Everyone agreed you are delicious. Melissa Sperandeo, Silva from Oakland, Kurt from the High Sierra’s, Gail San Jose, Gisele and Livia (of Make Bubbles not War) for volunteering your time and energy in unpacking, setting-up and/or breaking down after the event. And Livia, for supplying the bubbles when our bubble machine went out! Your helpfulness allowed us to manifest a proper event, and we left no trace afterwards due to your attention to detail. Stream, Fanny Lin, Melissa Sperandeo, Susanne Angelow thank you for all the delicious hot and cold foods and drinks. And to every hooper who brought the abundance of granola bars and fruits. THANK YOU ALL for not just nourishing us physically but for feeding us completely with your offerings and your presence. Melanie Pleasure and Everyone who brought hoops to donated, forgive me for the names that have escaped my mind, thank you so much for generously giving away so many Beautiful hoops of all sizes! Our event went from giving away nine Hoopadelic hoops to over two dozen hoops in all from various sources with your donations!!! --- Please drop me a line if you were at this event and made a donation. I would like to send the WHD organization a check on behalf of all of You -- monetary donators and hoop donators -- with a letter listing all participants if possible. Namaste. LOVE LIGHT & GRATITUDE,

I’d like to take a moment to express how this year’s World Hoop Day in L.A. went beyond Amazing. Thank You Thank You Thank You for an incredible event. pix 4 miss annie of SW Florida World Hoop Day 2008 with WonderWhirl & Pure Majic Hoops in Fort Myers, Florida....
hOOpy monday friends! we had an absolutely hooptastik turnout for our World Hoop Day Celebration friday nite - 100 or so people came downtown ft.
myers to hoop with us in beautiful centennial park - the weather was gorgeous - just barely a tiny little sprinkle - the grass was green & perfect for hooping & the sunset over the river was gorgeous -
around 7:45, a shiny white "tour bus" pulled up - a guy in a fancy suit came over & informed us that a big wedding party had booked this side of the park & they were not happy - as leelee & i prepared to move everyone very quickly to another area, the wedding party had a change of heart & decided we could stay where we were & they would go to the other side of the park - a little while later, the bride & groom came over & hooped with us - ahhhh the circle of love!
at 5 minutes to 8:00, we formed a huge circle - our local world traveling gypsy zachari, who a few months ago was participating in the march for tibet in india, said a few words about world peace - and then at 8 pm on 8/8/08 we had an 88 second silent "hoop 4 peace" - it was very powerful & it's certain that we definitely raised the vibration on the planet in that 88 seconds!
thanks so very much to all of the amazing drummers who came down to play for us & everyone who helped keep an eye on our "loaner hoops" -
special thanks also to fantastik photographer & hot hoop mama ebby - also mikey, amy, & linda for taking all the great pictures! there's a whole bunch posted here in my photo album titled "world hoop day 2008" - www.myspace.com/samadhigypsy
we also offer our great gracious gratitude to miss hoopin annie for all her good work as the founder & organizer of World Hoop Day - annie you are spinspirational!
enjoy & happy hooping everyone! blessings & hOOpLove,
